A fire caused damage to a home on Capon Road in Strasburg on Sept. 16. The second floor of the house sustained heavy damage, but no injuries were reported.

Suspect sought in Woodstock bank robbery (2 p.m.) WOODSTOCK -- Authorities are searching for a suspect in a midday robbery at the Stellar One Bank in Woodstock.
The robbery occurred at about 12:30 p.m. at the bank, which is at the corner of Reservoir and Ox roads
The Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office released this description of the suspect:
white male
approx 6 feet tall
190 - 200 lbs.
Wedding band (ring) on left hand
Dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt (pull over)
Black T-shirt
Hiking boots
Two-tone hat with “Real Tree” camouflage on the bottom part and a dark top center with a buck deer head emblem. Also the cap had lightening bolts on the sides (tan/gold).
BOYCE -- The mother of a woman missing from Clarke County since Tuesday night pleaded Friday for her safe return.
Debbie Plamondon made a brief statement to the media Friday afternoon at the public boat landing on the Shenandoah River off U.S. 17-50.
Kaleigh Marie Plamondon, 22, of 355 Cedar Wood Lane, White Post, has been "missing under suspicious circumstances" since last being seen Tuesday night, according to the Clarke County Sheriff's Office. She had been house-sitting at 500 Lakeville Farm Lane when she disappeared. Authorities also are looking for her ex-boyfriend, Justin Shane Slater, 24, of 117 Buffalo Trail, Shawneeland.
A time capsule buried in the cornerstone of an old school in Middletown, Va., was opened on June 6, 2009 -- 100 years after it was buried. Watch the video to find out what was inside the capsule.
Former classmates will gather at the "Old School" in Middletown, Va., on June 6 to celebrate the school's 100th anniversary. They will open a time capsule that was added to the building's corner stone in 1909, and later that day will meet for dinner at the Middletown Fire Hall. The school is now a private residence.
The Virginia Lovers Gourd Society is spreading the word - gourds are great! Two members of the society were at the June 2009 Garden Fest at Belle Grove to display their decorated gourds and to answer questions about raising, cleaning and crafting the non-edible fruit.
